ABOUT THE WINERY:
After 2 vintages in Rutherglen and McLaren Vale, then 25 years at Delatite, Ros established her own winemaking enterprise and label at Mansfield in 2008; soon she and her husband John moved their operation to new purpose-built cellars on Barwite Vineyards above the Broken River near Mansfield.
One of the things which Ros has always loved about her life in winemaking is the opportunity to travel and experience the culture of wines (and food) in the world's wine regions – over the years she has taken these opportunities to travel within New Zealand, France, Germany and a little of Italy, several times, but especially to Alsace, Baden, the Mosel, Rheingau and Pfalz, whose wines strengthened her passion for Riesling and gewürztraminer and stimulated her interest in pinot gris. More recently her visits to the northern American wine regions of BC, New York State, Oregon and Washington have added to her desire to continue developing her aromatic wines styles.
