A SHORT STORY OF, MARSURET

Marsuret is a family run farm business based in Guia di Valdobbiadene, in Veneto Region , in the north east part of Italy. Valdobbiadene has a unique position, in front the Adriatic sea and in the shoulders the Dolomite mountains: in the middle of Venezia, and Cortina d’Ampezzo ; Valdobbiadene is the original area where the unique prosecco was born, and by 2019 is part of the Unesco World Heritage Site.

Valdobbiadene is a unique area, here Glera grapes has been growing up for more than 300 years: its landscape is amazing, a succession of hills where wine growing have found the best conditions. Microclimate, different soils and the human skill and long-lasting tradition get to the prosecco coming from here a uniqueness. Only the Prosecco from Valdobbiadene – Conegliano could be called Valdobbiadene Docg Prosecco Superiore.

Marsuret is our “nickname”, it comes from our dialect, and it means “little Marsura”, our family name. Marsuret was the nickname of Agostino Marsura the founder of the business in 1936, when he bought the first vineyards located in Guia di Valdobbiadene. During all his story Marsura family used to continue buy more and more vineyards looking for the best hillside. We are now the fourth generation of vine grower and wine producer and the Marsura’s motto “Viticoltori di Collina” – “Vine grower from the hills” is well readable on our front labels.

Today the winery is in the hands of the third generation with Ermes Marsura, and the new one with his son is moving the first steps in the wine business. The winery now produces more than 70.000 cases of Valdobbiadene Docg Superiore and Prosecco Doc Treviso. All phases of the production are managed by the family, in the vineyards following a sustainable viticulture and handmade jobs, and in the cellar with the skill of winemaking and a very high technology.

The philosophy is to produce a very high quality Valdobbiadene Prosecco: all our sparkling wines represent the different soul and soils of Valdobbiadene where there are different subareas with different climate, soil, sun exposition produces different wines. Only hand-picked grapes from our own vineyards, different harvesting time in accordance with the best ripening process, keep separately the must coming from different subzones in order to preserve and to highlight the natural difference present in the vineyards. Second fermentation following the Martinotti or Charmat method to produce very fresh, fruity sparkling wines: in the winery we performances second fermentation in little tank or autoclave every single month. In this way we can keep the best freshness of our Prosecco. All bottles note the “lotto” with the month and the year of the second fermentation to grant to our partners the best quality, freshness and drinkability.

Marsuret is a real Estate, a family story and one of the most well-known brands of Valdobbiadene in Italy and step by step in the World.
